Nathan Hale Garden Club was founded on September 8, 1930, and Federated in 1931.

NHGC draws its members from the town of Huntington, and its surrounding communities. The membership has a maximum limit of 55 members who share a passion for flowers, gardens, and conservation.

We hold ten meetings a year, on the second Tuesday of the month, during the months of March through December. In addition to a buffet lunch provided by the members, our monthly meetings consist of a business meeting, and feature speakers or workshops covering various aspects of gardening, horticulture, floral design, conservation, landscape design and the environment.

Field trips are taken to public and private gardens, arboretums, flower shows, and nurseries.

Every 2 years, the Nathan Hale Garden Club presents a Flower Show which is open to the public. The purpose of the flower show is to teach and to showcase the work of our members, as well as to educate the general public on floral design, horticulture, botanical arts and crafts, and conservation. The flower shows are planned and judged in accordance with the rules of National Garden Clubs, Inc.

The Nathan Hale Garden Club is a tax exempt organization under Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Service.
